Earth Month Recap: Week Three

It has been such an exciting Earth Month so far! Volunteer events, outdoor activities, and career mingles have all made this month the most successful yet! Thank you to everyone who shared their time with us this month.

Earth Month Celebration

On Wednesday we held our annual Earth Month Celebration. We couldn’t have asked for better weather, it was a perfect spring day with beautiful sunshine and a cool breeze. Hundreds of students gathered on HSS Lawn where they were greeted by over 30 environmental organizations! The students received a passport and talked to the organizations to get stamps which allowed them to get food and a T-shirt, and different sustainability themed giveaways. Some of the organizations that joined us were Nourish Knoxville, Century Harvest Farms, KAT Buses, Keep Knoxville Beautiful and more! UT Gardens handed out native species of plants for students to take home and plant, and WUTK was also there doing a live broadcast at the event.

Overall, it was a great day with plenty of information being spread about sustainability around Knoxville! Thank you to everyone who participated and made it the most successful Earth Month Celebration to date, we can’t wait for next year!
