Some of the ways in which our projects are funded are outlined here:
Green Revolving Fund
This program was enacted in the fall of 2013, and through the years, the project fund has grown from $100,000 to $450,000 as of FY 18 due to its proven successes. These funds are used for retrofitting and energy-saving projects in campus buildings. The cost savings from each project over a five-year period is placed back into the Revolving Fund to continue funding additional projects.
- Completed 9 projects last FY, yearly savings of $92,800
- Replaced 6,500 lights with LEDs for a yearly savings at the Conference Center of over $72,000
- 40 percent completed Hodges Library lighting upgrade, $229,000 in lighting cost savings
Design and Research Fund
This fund is dedicated to design/research projects across all academic departments that will benefit the university, with an emphasis on operational projects to be completed by Facilities Services or an outside firm as needed.
Student Green Fee Proposal
Do you have an idea for a project? In the fall of 2005, by request of student vote during SGA elections, the student facilities fee was increased to establish funding for green power and campus sustainability initiatives.
We always have numerous projects in the works. We have featured a few here on this website, but you can request a list of all of the projects our office has completed.
