RecycleMania is a yearly intercollegiate recycling competition held between nearly 200 colleges and universities during February and March each year.
The goal of RecycleMania is to educate faculty, staff, and students about waste reduction. Schools are ranked against each other based on our recycling, composting, and landfill data in addition to the number of people who get involved with programs.
In 2020, the Office of Sustainability ranked 4th place in the recycling per capita category. To encourage recycling rates on campus, we host a RecycleMania Challenge between all of the Residence Halls on campus. Each hall competes week to week to see who has the highest recycling rate per resident. For more information on the national competition, check out the RecycleMania Website.
