Arbor Day

Every year, we are fortunate to celebrate both Tennessee Arbor Day, and National Arbor Day! Tennessee Arbor Day is the first Friday in March, and National Arbor Day is the last Friday in April.

Every spring on Tennessee State Arbor Day, UT students gather to plant trees around campus. The past years we’ve done a tree planting along the banks of Second Creek here on campus as a part of the greater riparian restoration project that is taking place there.
This year students volunteered for a tree planting event at Morgan Hall and at Sorority Village. We had over 60 students plant over 120 trees at the two locations.

National Arbor Day

In 2019, we celebrated National Arbor Day with a ceremony to honor our Bee Campus status, followed by a pollinator planting event outside of Fred Brown Hall.
